Tandem skydiving involves jumping from a perfectly good plane, 14,000ft above the beach attached to an experienced tandem instructor. With only 15 minutes instruction you can experience the ultimate thrill…..falling towards the earth at over 200km/hr! A massive 60 second rush!

Located right next to the golden sands of North Wollongong beach, the beach office is your meeting point for your adventure. After some obligatory paperwork, you are geared up into some funky jump pants and harness, then run through a 15-minute briefing by one of the friendly, professional instructors.
This short introduction to skydiving gives you an idea of what to expect on your skydive. There is no need to worry, as the guys look after all the details, leaving you to simply enjoy this unique experience. The short bus ride to the airport is renowned for its ability to weed out the joke tellers amongst the crew, so make sure you have one up your sleeve to impress the judge (bus driver Nick).
The fantastic turbine Caravan aircraft takes up to 8 tandems at a time in style, with special seating to allow for a great view of the coastline as you cruise up to jump height at 14,000ft. When in season it is common to see whales and dolphins in these waters so keep your eyes peeled.
After a 15-minute climb the plane levels out and the door is opened for exit. YAHOO! What an indescribable feeling as you feel the rush of wind in your face and your brain takes a few moments to realise you are freefalling! You have plenty of time to check out the view with 60 seconds of freefall before your instructor activates your parachute and the canopy opens above your head. This slows your descent from a mind-blowing 200+kms/hr to a stately glide as you approach the landing area for a soft touch down.
Back at the office you receive your certificate and if you upgraded to a package deal, a professionally produced DVD and photos package with footage of your entire experience, with special effects and music. What better way to prove your bravery to your family and friends than to have a showing on the big screen TV in the reception area? With a fine selection of cafes, bars and restaurants right next door, this is the perfect time to sit back and bask in your glory, knowing that you have conquered gravity.
